Research Interests

History of English, historical semantics, Medieval English language and literature. My recent focus is on pragmatic factors lying behind historical change in the English language. Another of my recent interest is the study of the development of English in the twentieth century and later. Besides, I am working on the meter, style, and textual criticism of Old English (Anglo-Saxon) poetry.
