Research Interests

Korean linguistics and sociolinguistics. At present, I have two themes. One is contrastive analysis of the grammars of Japanese and Korean, leading to the development of new knowledge of universals and language diversity. The other is the comparison of language behavior in Japan and Korea by means of a questionnaire survey, focusing on the relation between language and behavior in the two countries.
