Research Interests

Russian culture and 20th-century Russian literature. At present, I am interested especially in the relationship between Russian literature in the 1910s and 20s and the socialist realism of the 1930s onwards. In parallel, I am also examining the relationship of totality-oriented 19th-century Russian thought and the totalitarian culture of the Soviet era.
