I am a scholar of British literature, particularly modernist literature and culture of the early twentieth century; the novels of Virginia Woolf, Wyndham Lewis, George Orwell, and others; questions of utopia/dystopia, nostalgia, affect, and the literary-historical tensions between modernism and realism are some of my research interests. I have also worked on contemporary and postcolonial novels by writers such as Kazuo Ishiguro, Salman Rushdie, Ian McEwan, and Amit Chaudhuri. Recent interests include studies of adaptation from literary to filmic texts..
